That year marked the beginning of the Salem Witch Trials and started to change the direction of the future United States in ways that the first colonists could never have imagined. The home belonged to Jonathan Corwin, who was one of the three men. You could also visit the Old Burial Point on Charter Street, where you might be surprised to find some interesting artifacts about the history of Massachusetts. There's also the Salem Witch Museum and the Witch Dungeon Museum. These are not exactly kid-friendly experiences, so use caution if you're visiting Massachusetts with your young children. If you are interested in the scholarly approach to reviewing the history of Massachusetts and want to view actual artifacts from the time of the witch trials, a visit to the Peabody Essex Museum is a great way to spend a rainy afternoon! This museum is known to be the largest repository of actual artifacts, with them numbering over five hundred. Massachusetts is a state just filled with history, and everyone should take the time to explore what the state has to offer, at least once!
